There’s a constant, silent back-and-forth happening in your mind that no one really sees.
On one side, there’s overthinking—replaying conversations, imagining outcomes, questioning decisions that were already made. On the other side, there’s the part of you that just wants to stay calm and move forward.
And most days, those two are in competition.
You try to focus, but your thoughts wander.
You try to relax, but your brain decides it’s the perfect time to analyze everything.
You try to sleep, and suddenly your mind becomes the most active it’s been all day.
It’s exhausting in a way that’s hard to explain.
But what makes it manageable is understanding that not every thought needs attention. Not every “what if” deserves a full breakdown. Sometimes, the best response is to let the thought pass instead of holding onto it.
That takes practice.
Because your mind doesn’t naturally slow down—you have to guide it there. Through small habits, through awareness, through recognizing when you’re giving too much energy to something that doesn’t need it.
You don’t have to win every mental battle. You just have to avoid getting stuck in them.
